In Israel, as the National Labor Court has stated, collective employment representation has experienced a renaissance. The presentation will outline the key features of the current industrial relations law in Israel. As a field of law, the industrial relations law can be characterized as highly innovative because of the need for developing and adapting traditional legal rules to reflect the new developments in collective representation, both for employees and employers in Israel. In the presentation, we will discuss new legal phenomena and structures, such as the innovative law of union competition, the bargaining unit determination law, and more. Traditional cornerstones of Israel’s industrial relations law will also be discussed, including the exclusive representation principle.
