The Masters degree in Labour Relations is intended to prepare graduates to take part in labour relations broadly speaking and to manage their development, by acquiring a mastery of the legal, trade union, economic, organizational and human resources management aspects.
Students on this programme acquire the necessary skills to take up professional positions as managers and company directors while dealing with the various aspects of labour relations in public and private organisations, concerning labour agreements, employment contracts, employment disputes, and industrial relations (negotiating strategies and bargaining techniques). They also acquire skills relating to human resources management (recruitment and selection, training and development, career development plans), work and company organisation (micro planning of employment positions and macro planning of organisational structures and networks), risk protection, the management and organization of health and safety, labour consultancy, and active labour market policies (employment promotion and incentives, employment protection schemes).
This course is unique in the national academic panorama due to an approach to labour relations that brings together legal, economic, organisation and management studies. The interdisciplinary approach that characterises it enables graduates to acquire skills across a number of sectors, thus extending the range of choices in terms of access to the labour market.
